What’s New in ASP.NET MVC 5.2

ASP.NET MVC 5.2 has just been released.  There are plenty of improvements and bug fixes in this release, so developers would have a breath  of fresh air.

To use ASP.NET MVC 5.2 you need to have at lease any of the following:

Visual Studio 2012

Visual Studio 2013 or higher.


To download ASP.NET MVC update, use NuGet. This releas also includes the corresponding localized packages on NuGet.

You can also install or update the released NuGet packages via NuGet Package Manager Console:

Install-Package Microsoft.AspNet.Mvc -Version 5.2.0

New features in ASP.NET MVC 5.2:

Attribute routing now provides an extensibility point called IDirectRouteProvider that allows full control on how attribute routes are discovered and configured.
