MongoDB and Soundwave

Soundwave is a smartphone app tracks music as fast as it is played. The app tracks each user’s music listening habits across multiple platforms and streaming services, then creates a listening profile out of it. Users who follow each other can facilitate a listening, sharing, and discussion of music.

MongoDB is the database we’ll use to track around 250,000 plays per day from a user base with more than 1 million. MongoDB replica will provide a fault tolerance and redundancy letting us perform a scheduled maintenance without affecting users.
