Microsoft is currently building Azure capabilities for the upcoming release of Windows Server 2012. This feature will let third-party hosting services to create a mini-Azure cloud services that will be under their own brand. This service will allow the customers or third parties that uses Windows Server 2012, to provision their machine using Microsoft’s Metro user interface that is now found in Azure. Additionally, a standard API will let the third-party customize its infrastructure based on the service they are offering. This move Microsoft has done has attributed to a lot fo things but many believed that it aims to compete with Amazon and is trying to match VMWare’s cloud and virtualization software.
