MSMQ or Microsoft Message Queue is a message storage area in which an application is contacted to send or receive messages. Messages can be packed information, plain text, XML or other supported formats. The advantage of MSMQ is that it allows communication of one or more applications and it won’t force applications to communicate in a live connection. MSMQ can also maintain one or more queue. You can create any number of queue based on your needs. MSMQ is a Windows component just like IIS, so before proceeding to the article, I suggest you download and install MSMQ first. MSMQ is compatible with Windows 7 and Windows XP.
